The Cottage Cafe sits quietly in Ludlow, the kind of place people pass on a walk into town and end up staying at a little longer than planned. It is small, looked-after, and unfussy — good coffee, honest food, and a room that feels lived-in rather than styled.
We are not trying to be the busiest café in Shropshire. We would rather be the one you come back to when the weather turns, or when you want somewhere quiet to sit for an hour with a book and a slice of cake.
Simple, seasonal, made in small batches. What is on today depends on what looked good this morning.
We are in the middle of Ludlow, an easy stroll from the castle and the town square. If you are new to Shropshire, the market on Wednesdays and Saturdays is worth timing your visit around.
